I can’t stop being amazed by the new botanical forms I find. I wonder if this area is unusual in the number of species that seem to thrive.
Don’t know what this is, don’t know how to find out, and I don’t think that my ignorance takes away from the wonder of the color, the form, the contrast, the wheat-like shapes…however, if anyone knows, enlightenment is always good!
Don’t know what that is, but I’m sure Dr. Wegeforth would. He’s the guy who essentially started the SD Zoo. It’s my understanding that in his travels all over the world, he collected plants as well as animals. And planted them in Balboa Park. So apparently anything that will grow in that climate is probably still growing there. And I’m guessing that some of those plants ended up in your neighborhood as well. 🙂
It really does look like plump wheat, minus the beard. Let us know what it is!
