And More
And More

They were just too good.  So these are some from the section that was “warm” colors.  I like the speckled ones.  Such great and varied glazes.  I forgot to note the artist’s name, which makes me feel sad.  One of these brilliant ideas that only seems simple, and its realization is rich.

The next time I’m there, I’ll note his name.  I think his first name was David.  Thank you, David!

  1. The Internet is so handy! Based on the information you provided, I have learned that the lead artist on the project was David Adley, a professor of art at Point Loma Nazarene University, who was assisted by his students. Each tile is indeed a tire impression, homage to the cars that park in the garage to which the piece is attached. Quite a project, and your photos certainly do it justice.

    1. Susan, thank you! I spent some time trying to find his name, googling San Diego public art, and got nowhere. So you have provided a service by crediting him. I’m quite happy knowing they are indeed tire tracks. Come visit and we will make a pilgrimage to the site, and enjoy Little Italy, too!
